The turntable – behind the scenes

Did you know the website has a page dedicated to the recently constructed turntable at Quorn and Woodhouse station? The project was completed in 2011 and locomotives are regularly turned at gala events.

There is even a short film, with GCR projects director Tony Sparks explaining the construction process, including some spectacular timelapse photography.

The turntable will feature in the forthcoming Winter gala in 2013, during a special Saturday night twilight steam show.
