The Charnwood Forester 1st Class Restaurant Car Service

Dining Chef Your six course dinner is served aboard our First Class Restaurant Cars as one of our historic main line steam locomotives takes you on a leisurely journey through the Leicestershire countryside. The train departs from Loughborough Central at 7.30 p.m., returning at 10.15 p.m. Your meal is served during the journey and there will be an interlude at the delightfully atmospheric Rothley station complete with original Edwardian gas lights.


	To make a reservation, or for further information, simply call our Booking Office on (01509) 230726. We are open seven days a week 9.00 am – 5.00 pm.

Dates are shown below, with departure and return times from Loughborough Central. For Murder Mystery services, please ensure you are ready on Loughborough station for 7pm, and bring warm clothing if required.

Advance booking is essential for all our First Class Restaurant Car Services.

All menus are offered subject to availability and may be subject to occasional change.

Alternatives for vegetarian or other special dietary requirements can be pre booked for all menus, for details please contact the Booking Office.

An extensive range of wines, beers and spirits is available for purchase from your Steward.

1st Class Restaurant Car Service prices are inclusive of a First Class runabout ticket, which allows UNLIMITED travel on any passenger service operating on the Great Central Railway on the day of your visit.

First Class Restaurant Car Gift Vouchers

Ideal birthday, anniversary, retirement or Christmas presents for family, a loved one or to say thank you, buy a first class restaurant car meal as a gift with one of our vouchers.

The recipient can choose their own date for the selected service (subject to availability), and vouchers can be ordered for any number of people. Vouchers are normally sent by first class post to the purchaser the same day, or following day. Restaurant Car gift vouchers are subject to a £2.50 admin charge per voucher, in addition to the normal tariff.
