Every day from the 26th of December to the 3rd of January 2010 we're running some of the gems of our locomotive fleet on a busy train service. Blow away the post Christmas blues with a family trip out. Our normal fares and Friends of the Great Central Main Line discounts apply.

Boxing Day 2009: A special timetable applies on this day. Departures from Loughborough are at 11.30am, 12.55am, 1.15pm (Boxing Day Lunch), 2.15pm and 3.35pm.

December 27th to 30th 2009: A special timetable applies on this day. Departures from Loughborough are at 10.30am, 11.30am, 12.30pm, 1.30pm, 2.30pm and 3.30pm.

Engines in steam on the 27th: King Arthur Class no. 30777 Sir Lamiel and Black 5 no. 45231

Engines in steam on the 28th: King Arthur Class no. 30777 Sir Lamiel and BR Standard 2 no. 78019

Engines in steam on the 29th: BR standard 2 no. 78019 and Britannia Class no. 70013 Oliver Cromwell

Engines in steam on the 30th: Britannia Class no. 70013 Oliver Cromwell and BR Standard 2 no 78019.

December 31st 2009: A special timetable applies on this day. Departures during the day from Loughborough are at 10.30am, 11.30am 12.30pm, 1.30pm, 2.30pm, 3.30pm. The evening trains depart from Loughborough at 7.45pm, 9.30pm and 11.15pm (the final arrival back at Loughborough scheduled for 12.45am). The evening trains convey a first class dining service. Six courses are served during the three return trips. It costs £80 per person or £68.50 for First Class Friends (advanced booking essential). The non dining section of the train is open for passengers and and a second class passenger portion with drinks and light refreshments.

Engines in steam on the 31st: BR standard 2 no. 78019 and Britannia Class no. 70013 Oliver Cromwell. Oliver Cromwell will haul the New Years Eve specials.

New Years Day 2010: A three train service from Loughborough Central departing at 11am, 1pm and 3pm. Return trains from Leicester North depart at 11.45, 1.45 and 3.45pm (Last full roundtrip from Leicester North at 1.45pm)
