Whoever you love we have a perfect weekend for you at the Great Central Railway. A mini steam gala with three lovely looking engines is sure to steal your heart - but if you need more romance we have added some extra dining trains to make your Valentines celebration very special.

Let's talk about steamy cylinders and hot smokeboxes first! Did you miss our recent Winter Steam gala? Or would you just like some more Midland Magic?

Visiting Jubilee class number 5690 "Leander" (in luscious lovely red), Visiting Black five number 44767 "George Stephenson" (an engineer who knew what to do with his tools) and newly restored 3F 'Jinty' number 47406 (size doesn't matter - its how much power you've got) will all be out working. We have a forty five minute timetable and even better - normal fares apply (£14 runabout for adults). A full griddle service will be available on certain trains with hot meals.

The 3F is expected to work the following departures from Loughborough: 1000, 1215, 1500

'Valentines Dining'

On Saturday 13th lunchtime enjoy a four course meal (including coffee), served in the luxury of your first class seat while the best Leicestershire scenery slips past the window. Departing from Loughborough at 1.15pm the full roundtrip takes 90 minutes. £32 per person. See sample menus now on the 'dining services' webpage. (Limited seats still available).

On Saturday 13th evening - (extra train now booking due to demand) Departing at 7.30pm and returning around 10pm, ejoy a five course meal (including coffee). £42 per person (£30.50 for first class members of the Friends of the Great Central Main Line.

On Sunday 14th lunchtime enjoy a five course meal (including coffee) departing at 1.15pm from Loughborough. The journey lasts 90 minutes. Tickets cost £42 per person or £30.50 for first class members of the Friends of the Great Central Main Line. SOLD OUT

On Sunday 14th evening revel in the ultimate steamy night out. Treat your date to our special Valentine's night train, leaving Loughborough at 7.30pm, returning shortly after 10pm. A six course special menu  (including coffee) will be served at your seat.
