GREAT
CENTRAL RAILWAY The pages were initialy written by Richard Drew and David Pladgement, with additional content
now added and updated by Andy Carter for
the Great
Central Railway. Emails are welcome, particularly about the present GCR,
but commercial queries about the GCR are probably best directed to the company's
email address. Queries about railway history are more likely to get
results from the Great
Central Railway Society web site or HMRS
web site.
The pages are written to be visible to as wide an audience as possible. The
use of graphics is limited to increase speed of downloading the pages. In some
newer browsers the text often appears on the large size. The browsers tend to
have an option to change the font size. The web pages are written to promote the Great Central Railway, and to attract
visitors to the railway. The links page is written to
provide further information of use to prospective visitors. Relevant attractions
that can also be visited in a reasonable day trip are listed. The links page
is NOT another list of every web site about heritage railways. For anyone looking
for such a list please visit the Heritage
Railway web page.
The links page does include links to all known pages about the preserved GCR.
In addition links may be included to pages on the history of the GCR, particularly
the London Extension.
Links will also be considered for inclusion in other pages, for example linking
to pages on individual engines. However, these are obviously more difficult
to keep up to date, so reports of problems downloading any of these pages are
particularly welcome.
