Coronavirus information – Daily update

Last updated: 26th May 2020 at 09:00 (Last change on Tuesday 26th May)

In response to the global health emergency due to coronavirus COVID-19, we will be providing information daily on this page regarding our upcoming events and normal running days.

The Great Central Railway is temporarily closed to the public until further notice.

Do not trespass on the railway.

Please note that the railway remains in an operational state and essential engineering trains may run at any time. Do not trespass on the railway!

Unfortunately there have been cases of trespass on our railway line in recent days which have required staff to attend.

Any instances of trespass will be reported immediately to the police.

For customers who had booked in advance for services during this period...Thank you for your understanding.

We greatly appreciate your patience and understanding while the railway is temporarily closed. We have not yet been able to contact all customers who had booked in advance for services during this period, but please be assured that we will be happy to discuss options regarding your booking as soon as the situation allows. We look forward very much to welcoming you to the railway when the situation has improved.

Naturally we always wish to provide the best levels of service, but the current health emergency has required our offices to close temporarily in the interests of both staff and customers alike, and we genuinely appreciate your patience during these unprecedented times.

Unfortunately we are unable to accept telephone calls at present, but please feel free to contact us via e-mail to sales@gcrailway.co.uk and we will be pleased to respond as soon as possible

Please note that security staff on our sites will not be able to answer questions regarding bookings or the reopening of the railway.

We will continue to provide regular updates.

We thank you all for your understanding and wish you well during these difficult times.
