Charnwood Forester 2020 - Our Saturday Evening Dining Train
This train runs on Saturday evenings throughout the year and selected Fridays, except during January, and at certain special events.
Your five course dinner is served aboard our First Class Restaurant Cars as one of our historic main line steam locomotives takes you on a leisurely journey through the Leicestershire countryside. The train departs from Loughborough Central and your meal is served during the journey.
There will be an interlude at the delightfully atmospheric Rothley station complete with original Edwardian gas lights. The train departs from Loughborough Central at 7.00pm (7.30pm when running on Fridays), returning at approximately 10.00 p.m. Tickets are £59.00 per adult. The price includes the full cost of the train ticket. Rail travel is unlimited on the date of dining (or the following day for dining services which run on Friday evenings).
Coronavirus (last update 22nd September 2020): First Class dining services have now resumed, and we are continuing to contact all customers who were booked for services which were postponed during the period of temporary closure.Please be assured that we will be happy to transfer existing bookings to a future date to be agreed. We are grateful for the patience and understanding of our customers during this difficult time for us all.We are currently giving priority to customers who have kindly deferred their bookings, and intend to reopen dining trains for general sale soon. |

MENU Choice of: Ham Hock Terrine with Melba Toast or Mediterranean Vegetable Tart Chef’s soup of the day ~ Lamb shoulder in a mint gravy or Chicken Breast with Chorizo and red pepper stuffing or Cod and Pancetta Fishcakes with white wine sauce All served with chef’s selection of seasonal vegetables ~ Choice of: Two gateaux or fresh fruit salad ~ Traditional English cheeseboard served with celery and grapes ~ Tea and coffee served with chocolate mints |
