Beer Festival – Thu 20th to Sun 23rd September 2018

Great Central Railway's annual beer festival returns for its eleventh year and is better than ever! Take your taste buds on a sentimental journey at our 4-day beer festival. This year SEVENTY guest beers are on offer specially selected from different breweries; ciders and perry too; plus (new this year at Quorn) Burleighs gins, cocktails and Prosecco.

Trains are running on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Two steam locomotives (one on Friday) and visiting Deltic diesel loco 55019 "Royal Highland Fusilier" will be in action on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

The festival starts on Thursday 20th at midday.

It costs just £4 to enter but best of all it's FREE to anyone buying a ticket to travel on the steam trains that weekend!

Heart of Oak - a local 5 piece semi acoustic covers band - music from the 50's to today - from 8 pm

From 12pm on Friday, Saturday & Sunday until late there will be Bratwurst served on Loughborough platform.  Our station Buffet will also be open.
On Thursday, our Buffet will be open from 2 pm to 8 pm

QUORN & WOODHOUSE - LARGE BAR & LIVE MUSIC

Come to Quorn & Woodhouse on Friday, Saturday & Sunday for the Pistons & Pumps Festival - there’s a variety of traction engines, plus classic and vintage vehicles, on display.

Saturday from 7pm - Ska-Amanga.
Sunday - quiet

There'll also be a Gin, Cocktails and Prosecco bar at Quorn - operated by Burleighs

Food
From 12pm on Friday, Saturday & Sunday until late there will be curry and hog roast.  Butler-Henderson café will also be open from 10am to 4pm for homemade sandwiches, hot food, cakes and drinks.

Rothley - SMALL BAR
Friday - 12pm to 5pm
Saturday - 11am to 5pm
Sunday - 12pm to 5pm

Food
Ellis's tearoom will be open from 10am to 4pm daily for homemade sandwiches, hot food, cakes and drinks. Also the Station tearoom on the Platform will be open.

Locomotives

Two steam locomotives (one on Friday) and our visiting Deltic diesel loco 55019 "Royal Highland Fusilier" will be hauling passenger trains during the Beer Festival. Our Diesel Railcar is still in service.

A wide range of ciders (including fruit ciders) and perry will be available at all our bars

All attractions (including locomotives or motive power) appear subject to availability, GCR reserves the right to cancel or amend any service.

Passengers are conveyed by the Company's trains in accordance with the Company's "Conditions of Carriage" (as shown on this website).
