End of BR Steam Gala – 11th/12th August 2018

The only place to travel behind 70013 "Oliver Cromwell" on the 50th anniversary of the final steam hauled service on British Rail.

50 years ago, the final steam hauled services operated on British Railways, culminating in the "Fifteen Guinea Special" as it became known.

A major part of this railtour was hauled by 70013 "Oliver Cromwell", and we're delighted to present that very locomotive in a unique gala event over two weekends to recreate the memories of those last days of steam in 1968.

70013 Oliver Cromwell appears courtesy of owners, the National Railway Museum.
