Last Hurrah of the season – 17th & 18th November 2018
The last chance of the year to enjoy a GCR Gala before the Santa Season.
We're due to have at least 5 steam locos and a diesel loco in action in a busy and exciting weekend to draw the 2018 running season to a close.
This will be the final gala appearance for 70013 "Oliver Cromwell" (appearing courtesy of the National Railway Museum) before overhaul.
- 8F 48305 due to return after overhaul: The major overhaul of popular Stanier Class 8 48305 is almost complete and the loco is expected to appear at the Last Hurrah, subject to completion of the final parts of the overhaul work.
- Black 5 45305 due to return after repairs: Repairs to Stanier Class 5 45305 are also nearing completion, and this loco is also hoped to be in service at the event.
Full details are to be confirmed, but visitors can expect:
- Frequent passenger service.
- Goods trains.
- At least one loco making a return to steam - news will appear here soon!

Two steam locomotives, and visiting Deltic 55019 "Royal Highland Fusilier" are in service this weekend.
We are also running a diesel railcar service on the Mountsorrel Branch Line this weekend.
