LOROS, Charity Walk – Sun 1 October
Full Steam Ahead – Sunday 1st October 2017
Local hospice LOROS has joined forces with Great Central Railway to bring you a brand new countryside walk including a ride on a steam train!
The event, with the choice of three different length walks, will start at Quorn & Woodhouse Station and cross countryside through the villages of Old Woodhouse and Swithland, meandering through private land around Swithland Reservoir leading you to the beautifully nostalgic old station at Rothley where you will board the LOROS express taking you on a short journey on the historic railway back to Quorn.
The event is family friendly with entertainment at both stations and even special permission from the Station Master to bring your four-legged friends along for the day!
After the walk, participants can enjoy a delicious hog-roast – all included in the ticket price!
Laura Betts, Events Lead at LOROS said; “Everyone seems to be really excited about this new event, it’s a charity walk with a difference. The Great Central Railway and LOROS are both synonymous with Leicestershire so it’s a lovely way to bring both organisations together allow the public to see a little glimpse of the great work we both do in the local community”.
Tickets for this event are limited and LOROS are strongly encouraging early booking to avoid disappointment.
