Easter Vintage Festival – 18th to 21st April
All aboard for Great Central Railway’s Easter Vintage Festival! Get ready to step back in time to a country fayre at Quorn & Woodhouse station. There’s gallopers and a big wheel, traction engines, craft stalls, Edwardian farming demonstrations, vintage cars, commercials and machinery. There’s also a real ale tent with live music.

At Quorn & Woodhouse

Renown & Repulse set to star alongside at least 10 other traction engines including the ‘Leicester Pair’ and the winner of the 2013 Great Dorset Steam Fair ‘Special Roller Section’
> Vintage buses, lorries & cars
> Real ale tent - . Open 12pm – 11pm Good Friday, 12pm – 6pm Saturday, 12pm – 6pm Sunday and 12pm – 5pm Monday.
This will be our usual mini beer festival with guest ales from Lytham, Brown Ales, Dukeries and Milestone Breweries plus virtually the full range of Nottingham Brewery’s beers spread over the four days plus cask ciders and wines.

> Steam Gallopers & big wheel. Take a trip down memory lane and ride on everyone’s favourite fair ground ride (not included in ticket price)

> Children’s Austin car rides (not included in ticket price)
> Special Guests – Midland’s Vintage Tractor Club
> Trade & craft stalls – there’ll be a variety of stalls, so browse at your leisure
> 1898, 87 key Gavioli fairground organ & 1902 Tom Smith’s 98 key Gavioli organ -providing traditional organ music throughout the event
> Locomotives - 9F, 92214 will be topping the bill alongside 70013 & 777. There’ll be daily photo opportunites with one of the locos alongside the mighty Fowlers!
> Saturday afternoon road run at 4pm - witness a spectacle guaranteed to delight all! There will be a village traction engine road run through Quorn which will stop off at The Quorndon Fox pub
> Butler Henderson Cafe - the cafe will be open from 9am every day and will be serving refreshments from breakfast baps, teas and coffees, through to delicious homemade cakes
> Children’s funfair – there will be a selection of traditional and modern children’s fairground rides (not included in ticket price)
At Leicester North
> Vintage Fayre at Greenacres – Saturday 19th, Sunday 20th & Monday 21st April only – Let us take you down memory lane to revisit those cherised times. There will be a variety of craft & trade stalls to include: Vintage clothing, jewellery, Chinaware, handmade textiles, confectionery, photography and old fashioned cakes as well as real ale on sale. There will also be live music – Laura Jane Vintage on Saturday & Monday and Velvet Divine on Sunday. For the kids there will face painting and a colouring corner. The cafe will also be serving lovely homemade food.
Opening times: The event starts at 10am – 6pm each day with the first train departing from Loughborough at 10.00am.
**Friday Night Live Gig with ‘The Roosters’
On Friday night Quorn gates open again at 6.30pm with a knees up in the real ale tent with live music from The Roosters, playing no-nonsense covers of classic songs from the “golden age” of pop music, the sixties, the seventies and the eighties. The vintage fairground rides will also operating into the evening until 8pm and we will be serving hot food. Join us for a boogie, a pint and a ride on the Gallopers!

NB: All tickets include unlimited rail travel
1. Entrance tickets to Quorn for the festival alone (not including travel) are priced at £5pp – if you hand your ticket in when booking a travel ticket this £5 can be deducted from the price of the travel ticket
2. Purchase of a rail ticket guarantees free entry into Quorn festival
3. Return, single and short hop tickets will not be available, except after 3.30pm when they will become available at the normal rates.
4. Normal discounted fares apply for members of Friends of Great Central Main Line (Valid membership cards must be shown) – £8 and £5 for adults and children, respectively.
5. Holders of HRA passes will be entitled to Privilege fares (upon production of current valid pass)
6. Members of other heritage railways with whom GCR has reciprocal arrangements for reduced fares, will be eligible for Privilege fares.
7. Same arrangements apply as in 6. above for holders of ex British Rail and Train Operating Company passes.

NOTE: Gala programmes are available for £1 (while stocks last)
Loughborough: Free on street parking is available but, due to restrictions, please allow for up to 10 minutes walk to the station.
Quorn: The station yard and car park is for disabled badge holders only. There will be parking restrictions in the immediate vicinity of Quorn station.
Rothley: There is very limited free car parking in the station yard due to the children’s funfair.
Leicester North: There is limited free car parking on the immediate approach to the station.
