Our Annual 1940's Weekend, With a Flavour of D-Day,
With Star Guest DUKW Amphibious Vehicle!
With all our friends from WW2 re-enactment groups, military vehicle groups, plus a whole host of people who have the uniforms and entertainment skills, and not forgetting the Great Central Railway's own staff - join together to present a weekend to stir the memories. Whatever your interest - be it Uniforms, Vehicles, 1940's clothing, Music, Battles or WW2 planes - there is something for everyone at this weekend.

Cross the 'English Channel' into 'Occupied France, and meet up with the Axis Forces. See the battle for Rothley Yard, and other skirmishes. Watch out for the 'bombing run' and the display provided by the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.

Please note:
- Heritage Railway Association Passes are not valid at this event.

Reciprocal 'Free Travel' arrangements with other heritage railways
for their volunteers and staff are suspended for this event, although persons
normally eligible for this will be able to buy tickets at the privilege rate.
- Short journey tickets are also available on the day. Please enquire at any of our booking/ticket offices or with one of our Travelling Ticket Inspectors.
