“While my ‘friends’ the twin black steam locomotives, Donald and Douglas, will be hauling the express service the whole eight mile stretch, calling at Loughborough, Quorn and Woodhouse, Rothley and Leicester North at Birstall.” puffed Thomas gleefully, “They will pull harder, and harder as they have further to go.”

 “I wonder if they will play any practical jokes on ‘The Fat Controller‘ by swapping their name plates?” he chuckled.

“Daisy, the Diesel Rail-car, who helped me after I crashed into the Stationmaster’s house at breakfast time,” Thomas remembered “has been given the same task as Donald and Douglas, and she looks forward to carrying passengers through Leicestershire’s beautiful countryside, leaving the troublesome trucks to behave in the sidings!

“And devious Diesel is under strict instruction by ‘The Fat Controller’(in his firm but kindly manner) to help me over the weekend, and will be keeping a careful eye on him to check he isn’t up to his scheming ways!”

Thomas's special shuttle will leave from Loughborough at regular intervals from 10:45 to 4:00.

The "main line" train service starts from Loughborough at 9:30 and Leicester at 10:00. Plenty of trains throughout the day.

If your thinking of going to Loughborough by road, why not park at Quorn station and start your visit there?
