Beer Festival and Vintage Weekend – Thu 22nd to Sun 25th July 2021

Subject to any government reviews, we are planning to hold our Annual Beer Festival in conjunction with our Vintage Steam Festival from Thursday 22nd July until Sunday 25th July. More details to follow but please find below the outline for the festivals.

As usual the Beer Festival will be held at three of our stations, Loughborough, Quorn & Woodhouse and Rothley. Loughborough and Quorn & Woodhouse will be open from 11.00am on Thursday 22nd and Rothley from 11.00am on Friday 23rd July.

Closing times are as follows:

Loughborough and Quorn & Woodhouse Thursday 9.00pm, Friday and Saturday 11.00pm and Sunday 5.00pm

Rothley 5.00pm every day.

We are looking forward to welcoming some 60 to 70 guest ales and some 15 to 20 ciders plus a Gin & Proseco bar at Quorn & Woodhouse. Details of the guest ales will be published nearer the time.

We are pleased to welcome back Roosters who will be playing in the marquee at Quorn & Woodhouse on Friday evening and Doctor Busker on the Saturday evening. At Loughborough, we are arranging some pleasant background music for each afternoon.

Our Vintage Steam Vehicle Festival will be open from 10.00am Friday, Saturday and Sunday with some 12 traction engines, vintage vehicles, Big Wheel, Gallopers and mini Train Rides.

On Saturday there will be a road run through Quorn village commencing at about 3.30pm and at 12.00 on Sunday, we will have our traditional whistle for Absent Friends.

We look forward to welcoming you back to the railway, please note passenger services will commence from Quorn & Woodhouse on Saturday 17th April, online booking for tickets only.

Our next running day

Passenger trains have now returned to the GCR, running every Saturday and Sunday, and on selected weekdays.

Pre-booking is required at present, to ensure social distancing onboard trains.

We look forward to welcoming you back to the railway as we progressively return to normal operation, as the national situation improves.
