Railways at Work Gala – 14th and 15th August 2021

Our Railways at Work Gala will take place on 14th and 15th August 2021.

Ahead of the return of our full gala programme later this year, Railways at Work provides and interesting and varied display of how goods and passengers travelled the country in the golden years of railways, with five steam locomotives, two diesel locos, and our diesel railcar in action.

The event is centred around Quorn & Woodhouse where demonstrations of shunting, crane lifts, the turntable, and reenactments take place. British Railways road vehicles are also in action at Quorn & Woodhouse.

The event features:

- Railway Reenactors

- Busy Timetable of Passenger and Goods Trains

- British Railways Road Vehicles

- Wagon Loading/Unloading including use of  BR Diesel Crane

- Turntable Demonstrations

Five steam locomotives, two diesel locos, and our diesel railcar are due to be operating at Railway at Work.
