Last Hurrah Gala

Round off the season in style at the Last Hurrah Gala.

Round off the season in style at the Last Hurrah Gala, our end-of-year celebration of steam and diesel power. Expect an action-packed timetable, a great line-up of locomotives, and plenty of atmosphere as we bid farewell to another fantastic year on the railway.

This is your last chance to enjoy a big gala before we switch gears and transform the railway into the magical Great Central Santa Express.

Class 35 ‘Hymek’ No. 7018

Built in 1962, D7018 served with British Railways until its withdrawal in 1975. After a major engine failure in 1995, it underwent a long overhaul and returned to service in 2019, becoming one of just four preserved ‘Hymeks’.
