Spring Steam Weekend

Spring Steam Weekend

Steam trains, spring sunshine and a timetable full of action

Join us for the return of our Spring Steam Weekend, featuring an impressive line-up of visiting and home-fleet steam locomotives running across the UK’s only preserved double-track main line.

Visiting locomotives to join the home fleet include:

  • 34072 257 Squadron
  • 9F No. 92134
  • Austerity No. 3809

They’ll be joined by the Great Central Railway’s own steam fleet, providing a busy weekend of steam-hauled services.

To make the event even more special, both Austerity No. 3809 and No. 68067 will be operating on the Mountsorrel Branch Line throughout the weekend.

Whether you’re a long-time enthusiast or simply looking to enjoy a traditional steam railway experience, the Spring Steam Weekend offers frequent services and classic steam travel through the Charnwood countryside.

Please note, there will be no LTHT shuttle bus service running between Loughborough Stations today owing to flooding adjacent to the bus depot.
