Our bridge specialists Cass Hayward are now hard at work, taking the Factory Flyover stage of the Reunification project to ‘final design’ stage. This is a vital bit of work which has to be completed before we can get building again.
We’ve already received planning consent based on concept drawings but those don’t contain all the information a contractor will need to deliver a new, long lasting piece of railway infrastructure fit for everything we need it to do.
We hope to begin building the Factory Flyover from Summer 2026. Before we can find a company to do the work, we need to make sure we have given them every bit of possible information about the task ahead.
The Factory Flyover includes not just the concrete viaduct to cross the Preci Spark factory car park but also the new high bridge over Railway Terrace Road. Of the three sections of Reunification we have completed so far, this will be the most complex. The designers aim to complete their work by late Spring 2026.
