We’re delighted to announce a significant step forward for the Reunification project. We’re ready to find a contractor to build the next section.
As you may know, the ‘Factory Flyover’ is actually two sections in one. It’s the crossing of the factory car park and the bridge over Railway Terrace road. In total it’s another 60 metres of missing railway rebuilt and the most complicated section we have tackled so far.
Our formal tender process will take place in the next couple of months. All being well, we’ll agree terms with a contractor and work will start on site in early 2027. We’ll be sure to keep you up to date because we all want to see physical work start again. Once it does we’ll be taking the chance to promote the project far and wide.
We’ve raised almost all the money we need to build the Factory Flyover, but still need your support, to help ensure we have enough money in the fund as a contingency. Your continued donations give us and our contractor confidence to push ahead. Any funds which aren’t needed for the Factory Flyover will go into future work.
