We’d like to say a warm and heartfelt thank you to everyone who has donated to the Reunification fund in our new fundraising push. We’ve been contacting people who have previously supported the project, members of Friends of the GCR Main Line and taking our message around the country.
In recent weeks we’ve been at several events, including the new build steam open day in Sheffield on April the 11th. We’ve delivered presentations in Tewkesbury, Norwich, St Albans and Manchester.
The response has been overwhelming. Donations have been flooding in online via cheques in the post. In addition, many of you have been able to make the gift aid declaration, topping up your gift by an additional 25%. We’d like to thank the team at the David Clarke Railway Trust who are now working hard to process all the paperwork and respond to everyone.
We’re still crunching the numbers and we’ll update our totaliser in due course, but we’re tens of thousands of pounds closer to starting our build of the Factory Flyover section than we were a few weeks ago.
